RN / Clinical Nurse Educator - Ambulatory Care

About the role

UW Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Educator. This position will support the outpatient ambulatory clinic staff at our Montlake and Northwest medical center campuses.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, organizes, teaches, and evaluates staff education. This may include orientations, in-services, residencies, preceptorships, BLS/ACLS renewals, and continuing education programs
• Conducts specific classes and competency verifications
• Works with staff to identify opportunities for professional growth and implements educational strategies to support staff in transition
• Acts as an education resource to support quality patient care
• Collaborates with community agencies outside the medical center regarding professional nursing practice
• Promotes and supports a high functioning environment that fosters continuing learning and professional development
• Participates in clinical and organizational policy and procedure development
• Supports systems and processes to promote evidence-based practice and clinical inquiry
• Participates in the development of quality assessment and improvement programs

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Active licensure to practice as a RN in Washington State
• BLS
• 4 years of clinical RN experience in an ambulatory setting
• 2 years of experience in education/teaching, including experience developing, implementing, presenting, and evaluating educational programs
• Strong working knowledge of adult teaching and learning principles
• Strong skills in program development, coordination, and presentation in a variety of modalities
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Pay

Pay Range Minimum: $126,000.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum: $186,000.00 annual
