About the role
The Meritus Intensive Care Unit is seeking a Clinical Manager to lead and coordinate clinical operations, ensuring high-quality care, safety, and patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and accountability for a 24-bed Intensive Care Unit
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to support safe, high-quality patient care
- Ensure compliance with clinical standards, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and safety protocols
- Lead quality, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives
- Monitor patient acuity, capacity, and throughput to optimize operations and patient outcomes
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, case management, and interdisciplinary teams
- Conduct staff coaching, performance evaluations, and professional development planning
- Serve as a resource and leader during emergency situations, rapid responses, and critical events
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in a related clinical setting, prior leadership or supervisory experience
- Licensure/Certification: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of Maryland required, professional certification in a clinical specialty or leadership preferred
