Job Details
Overview: The RN Clinical Educator is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating clinical education and training programs for all Clinical Staff and Home Health Aides within a Certified Home Health Agency. This role ensures that all clinical staff maintain competency, comply with regulatory standards, and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the home setting.
Responsibilities
- Education & Training
- Develop and deliver orientation programs for newly hired Clinical Staff and Home Health Aides
- Provide ongoing in-service education based on identified learning needs, regulatory changes, and quality improvement initiatives
- Design competency-based training modules, including skills validation and annual competency assessments
- Utilize evidence-based practices in curriculum development
- Clinical Support & Mentorship
- Collaborate with the Director of Education and other key staff including but not limited to: Administrator, Quality Reviewers/Quality Review Managers, and Field Supervisor(s)/Preceptor(s)
- Provide a process to promote and ensure employee orientation, competency, and in-service education programs
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for Clinical Staff
- Conduct supervisory visits and field evaluations to assess clinical performance
- Provide coaching and remediation plans as needed
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure training programs meet federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., CMS, Department of Health, CHHA requirements)
- Maintain accurate documentation of staff education, competencies, and certifications
- Absist with survey readiness and participate in audits
- Quality Improvement
- Collaborate with leadership on quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives
- Analyze clinical outcomes and identify areas for staff development
- Support implementation of best practices to improve patient outcomes
- Policies & Procedures
- Assist in developing and updating clinical policies and procedures
- Ensure alignment with current standards of practice and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Licensure: Current RN license in good standing in the state of practice
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in certified home health care, with a strong understanding of Medicare regulations, OASIS, and case management
- Skills: Excellent clinical knowledge with the ability to educate others effectively, Proficient in remote education and comfortable using digital platforms for training, Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, Ability to work independently and as part of a team, Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to compliance and quality improvement
