As a Nursing Educator, you will collaborate with nursing leadership and staff to develop and implement educational programs, ensuring the professional growth and competence of nursing staff.

Major Responsibilities

  • Supports educational needs for assigned units/clinics including classroom, clinical experiences, and learning technologies.
  • Implements Tenet comprehensive education programs to meet orientation and ongoing competency needs of nursing staff.
  • Ensures all program/course revisions meet departmental and regulatory expectations.
  • Provides consultation to enhance continuing education and professional development opportunities.
  • Delivers/coordinates educational programs such as Grand Rounds, in-services, and specialty curricula.
  • Provides leadership to preceptors and mentors nursing staff.
  • Participates in quality performance improvement activities.

Pediatric Services

  • Covers PICU, Pedi Oncology Clinics, PSTT, Children’s Specialty, Therapies, Pharmacy, Child Life, and CAUTI projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Education or related specialty.
  • 3 years nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Current State Licenses & Certifications.

  • Demonstrates responsibility for reporting to licensing, certification, accreditation, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Interacts with staff in an ethical, consistent, fair, timely, appropriate, and decisive manner.
  • Identifies factors affecting staff's ability to fulfill job responsibilities and collaborates with management to effect change.
  • Accepts Committee and market work group appointments and actively participates to affect change.
  • Cultivates positive relationships with academic programs.
  • Demonstrates AIDET and respects others at all times.

Facility Description

Children’s Hospital of Michigan is an international leader in pediatric and adolescent medicine. It offers advanced diagnostic services, including Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and MRI, and is a verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and dedicated pediatric burn center. The hospital provides care for thousands of children annually and operates six ambulatory sites.
