Overview
Hospice of Alabama is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with strong clinical knowledge and supervisory experience to serve as the Clinical Director. This role offers advancement opportunities for RNs committed to hospice care.
Responsibilities
- Champion Comprehensive Patient Support: Coordinate and oversee a variety of patient services, aligning with hospice program policies.
- Empowering Teams: Provide guidance and support to a team of clinicians, promoting continuous improvement in hospice care services.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct meticulous chart audits, ensuring medical records comply with regulations, certification standards, and ethical care benchmarks.
- Training Excellence: Participate in creating orientation and in-service training for nursing and clinical staff, nurturing their growth across different proficiency levels.
- Performance Advancement: Evaluate and uplift clinical staff performance during probation and annually, offering teaching and counseling to enhance service delivery.
- Collaborative Leadership: Lead interdisciplinary team meetings to refine patient/family care plans, fostering insights, challenge resolution, and professional camaraderie.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare preferred.
- Registered Nurse with a current state license to practice as a professional nurse in the state where the office is located.
- A minimum of 3 years experience as a nurse, including 1 year of full-time experience in hospice, home health, or oncology settings, and 1 year of supervisory experience in hospice or home health care.
- Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of terminal care, including expertise in crisis intervention, pain and symptom control, clinical bedside nursing, and family counseling.
- Demonstrated ability to execute a supportive, sensitive approach to staff and patient/family needs.
- Computer proficiency in typing and various programs, including background in EMR.
- Possess and maintain current CPR certification if required by state.
- Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to dependable transportation.

Salary Range
The average salary range for this position is $87,000 - $90,000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience and specific responsibilities of the position. Final compensation rate will be discussed and confirmed at the conclusion of the interview process.
