About the Role
Join Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital’s team of caregivers providing top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Port St. Lucie. This state-of-the-art acute care facility, opened in 2013 and expanded in 2017, has 177 patient rooms and offers a wide variety of specialties. The Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) cares for patients awaiting test results to determine if they can be discharged safely or need admission. As an RN, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient journey, interacting directly with patients and families to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Evaluate, update, and revise plans of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and families with materials considering cultural issues and special concerns.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Personal Protective Equipment
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
