About the role
PeaceHealth is seeking an RN Clinic - OB GYN for a Per Diem/Relief, 0.00 FTE, Day position.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs, including assessing patient's condition, triaging patient phone calls, counseling patients, providing patient education, taking patient histories, administering prescribed medications, changing dressings, cleaning wounds and monitoring patient vital signs
- Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards
- Ensure own professional effectiveness through education and professional development
- Participate in the development of and maintain established policies, procedures and objectives
- Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention programs
- Demonstrate competence in making professional judgements pertaining to patient care
- Screen and prioritize patient telephone or walk in inquiries concerning their medical care, prescription refills and insurance authorizations and referrals
- Evaluate and respond appropriately to urgent or emergency situations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Education: Accredited School of Nursing (Required)
- Experience: 1 year preferred as a registered nurse; obstetric experience (inpatient or outpatient) required
Credentials
- Registered Nurse in state of practice (Required)
- Basic Life Support (Required upon hire)
Skills
- Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment
- Basic computer skills including MS Office applications
- Effective prioritization skills
- Ability to provide health education to patients, staff and community
- Knowledge of Medicare, JCAHO, DNV & HCFA regulations pertaining to ambulatory care
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs
Working Conditions
- Lifting: Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without assistive equipment (NIOSH)
- Fine motor skills to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures
- Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (WOW, medical carts)
- Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (seldom or occasionally)
- Ability to move around area with frequent sitting
- Bending/stopping/squatting/reaching/kneeling frequently
- Lifting (non-patient): up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently
Environmental Conditions
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment
Mental/Visual
- Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted)
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information

Salary range: $46.27 – $69.41. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
