As a RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator in Med Surg Orthopedics, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn—whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. We are seeking a dedicated department Clinical Nurse Coordinator RN who is accountable to the Nursing Director for clinical and operational functions of an assigned unit. You will assume responsibility for managing the unit’s clinical and operational activities in the absence of the Director. You would be part of a phenomenal team that works hard to support each other while providing excellent care to our patients in a collaborative manner.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift.
  • Direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with other members of the management team, in accordance with established policies/procedures.
  • Serve as a resource person for staff and model a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.
  • Accept accountability for directing and overseeing staff roles on the unit.
  • Coordinate patient placement within the unit according to acuity, skill mix, and staff availability.
  • Assist in identifying and addressing educational needs of the unit.
  • Participate in and direct patient care conferences, addressing patient discharge needs.
  • Assure rounds are made with physicians and stay informed of patient condition changes, making appropriate clinical decisions.
  • Accountable for orders, ensuring they are appropriate and carried out in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.
  • BLS-AHA Provider issued card required within 30 days of start.
  • 2 years of acute care RN experience preferred.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Neonate Resuscitate certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
