RN - Children's Urgent Care - Full Time

About the role

This is a fast-paced, on-your-feet position with direct patient care as well as triaging in the Children's Urgent Care Clinic. The clinic is open Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM, Saturday and Sunday 8 AM to 5 PM. The position includes working every 3rd weekend and 2 call shifts every 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Charge RN duties
• Rooming patients and taking vitals
• Assisting with procedures
• Medication administration
• Patient transfers
• Rapid responses
• Handling phone calls regarding results and further treatments
• Answering patient inquiries over the telephone and assessing symptom severity using triage algorithms
• Addressing inquiries via phone and MyChart messaging
• Providing patient and family education
• Utilizing nursing and assessment skills
• Adhering to triage protocols
• Collaborating with providers to guide patients to the appropriate level of care

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program preferred (e.g., AACN, ACEN, NLN CNEA)
• Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred
• One year of healthcare experience preferred
• Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice occurs and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
• Nurses performing nursing practice over the telephone require licensure in the states where the patients being served reside
• Within first 30 days of employment, all requirements to obtain license needed for role must be completed
• Obtains and subsequently maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications

Pay

Salary range: $29.50 - $44.50 per hour.
$15,000 sign-on bonus available for qualified candidates.
