RN Charge Nurse Night Shift
About the role
The RN - Charge Nurse facilitates, coordinates, and evaluates unit activities for the provision of quality patient care during the assigned shift. This individual serves as a mentor to the staff and acts as a role model by applying the nursing process, quality improvement standards, and organizational and departmental goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and coordinate unit activities for the provision of quality patient care.
- Evaluate unit activities to ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Supervise and train staff, organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Resolve customer complaints and concerns.
- Manage time and schedules effectively.
Requirements
- Active RN licensure required.
- BLS certification required.
- Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, etc.) may be required depending on the area assigned.
Qualifications
- Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred.
- Minimum 1 year staff nurse experience required.
Skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
- Knowledge of computer systems, preferably in a PC, Windows-based environment.
- Ability to observe, assess, and record work, safety, and infection control standards.
