About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) position at Northwest Medical Center involves providing patient-centered care through the nursing process, coordinating and delivering high-quality care based on established clinical protocols and physician/provider orders. This role collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and desired outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Carefully reviews medical history and prepares patients for procedures.
- Starts and maintains IV lines for medication administration.
- Administers prescribed medications, monitors for side effects, and documents administration.
- Aids cardiologists during catheterization processes.
- Maintains close monitoring of vital signs, hemodynamic data, and sedation levels during procedures.
- Ensures proper functioning of equipment and supplies during procedures.
- Manages potential complications and responds to emergencies during procedures.
- Monitors and administers post-procedure medications and continues to monitor vital signs and overall condition.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required.
- Strong knowledge of the nursing process and clinical nursing practices.
- Proficient in performing thorough patient assessments and communicating findings effectively.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care.
- Knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required.
- BCLS - Basic Life Support required.
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required.
Skills
Strong knowledge of the nursing process and clinical nursing practices.
Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively.
Proficient in administering medications and monitoring for side effects.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Schedule
Full time schedule M-F, with required call in the Cath Lab at Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, AZ.
