About the role
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is hiring four Registered Nurse Case Managers at our main campus in Manhattan. Ready for a change from traditional bedside nursing—but not ready to step away from patient care? As an RN Case Manager at MSK, you'll use your clinical judgment and nursing experience in a new way, helping patients and families navigate complex cancer care. Case management is much more than paperwork. You'll assess patient needs, solve problems, advocate for patients, and work closely with nurses, physicians, social workers, insurance providers, and other partners. While case management experience is preferred, experienced hospital nurses with strong transferable skills are encouraged to apply. The position is located at 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY.
Responsibilities
- Provide case management for a group of oncology patients
- Begin assessing discharge-planning needs when a patient is admitted
- Review each patient's progress and identify the services needed for a safe and timely transition to the next level of care
