RN Case Manager, Inpatient

About the role

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is hiring Registered Nurse Case Managers at its main campus in Manhattan. The role uses clinical judgment and nursing experience to help patients and families navigate complex cancer care, assessing needs, solving problems, advocating, and coordinating care across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide case management for a group of oncology patients
• Begin assessing discharge-planning needs when a patient is admitted
• Review each patient's progress and identify the services needed for a safe and timely transition to the next level of care
• Coordinate home care, equipment, services, and follow-up care
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide continuity throughout treatment and follow-up
• Communicate with physicians and clinical nursing staff about ongoing patient care
• Connect with insurance carriers and MSK billing teams to obtain treatment authorizations and support appeals
• Follow select patients in the outpatient setting

Requirements

• Current New York State Registered Nurse license and registration required
• BSN required
• At least two to three years of clinical hospital nursing experience
• Case management, utilization review, or managed-care experience strongly preferred—but not required
• Knowledge of state and federal health‑insurance regulations preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Pay

Pay range: $125,400.00 – $200,700.00 (exempt status)

Schedule

Five eight‑hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with on‑call responsibilities and rotating weekend coverage. Location: 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY.
