RN Case Management for ED/Observation - Full-Time Days

Full time, Day Shift RN Case Management position for the Emergency Department and Observation unit, offering 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform utilization management (concurrent and retroactive) for inpatient and outpatient services in accordance with JCAHO and third-party payor contracts.
• Manage length of stay and level of care to ensure effective, efficient, and patient-focused healthcare services.
• Contribute to a mission-driven environment where high-quality professional practice and patient outcomes are prioritized.

Requirements

• Current and valid NYS RN license.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or willingness to pursue a defined plan for matriculation demonstrated by ongoing coursework each semester.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting or 1 year in community health.

Preferred Qualifications

• Discharge planning and community resource knowledge.
• Basic knowledge of the utilization management process.
• Working knowledge of recognized industry clinical standards (e.g., Interqual, Milliman Care Guidelines).
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• High efficiency in fast-paced work environments.
• Ability to engage in a team setting and promote a strong team culture.

Pay

Pay range: $38.00–$50.18 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The range may vary by location.
