POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide professional nursing care to individuals with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and co-occurring conditions.
- Conduct and document nursing assessments.
- Administer and monitor prescribed medications in accordance with provider orders.
- Support health promotion and disease management by providing nursing education related to behavioral health conditions, physical health comorbidities, medications, relapse prevention, and wellness activities within the RN scope of practice.
- Carefully coordinate nursing care and services with treatment team to promote continuity of care and safe treatment transitions.
- Provide nursing follow-up after hospital or emergency department utilization.
- Maintain documentation of nursing assessments, interventions, medication administration, client responses, and coordination activities in compliance with organizational policy, OBN standards, and applicable regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement, utilization review, and outcome monitoring activities, to support program effectiveness and compliance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred, Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) Required.
- Experience: ADN-prepared nurses must have a minimum of thirty-six (36) months of professional nursing experience in behavioral health and/or substance use disorder treatment. BSN-prepared nurses preferred to have a minimum of six (6) months of professional nursing experience in behavioral health and/or substance use disorder treatment.
