About the Role
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Focus areas include cardiac care, cardiovascular unit, telemetry unit, heart failure patients, and post-operative cardiac care.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care using the nursing process
- Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients
- Evaluate effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers
- Coordinate patient care with other departments
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
- Perform duties consistent with organizational mission and values
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or completion within 30 days of hire
- Other unit-specific certifications as required
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience preferred
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly
- Prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat
