About the unit: 6 North is a 38-bed Cardiovascular unit specializing in the care of adult patients with Heart Failure, cardiac dysrhythmias, newly implanted pacemakers and defibrillators, LVAD readmits, pulmonary hypertension, and other cardiac conditions requiring medical treatment. Most patients receive continuous telemetry monitoring. Care is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

About the Role
The Registered Nurse (RN) operates under the ANA scope of practice, utilizing the nursing process framework to provide professional nursing care. This includes incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients. The RN delivers quality care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, following Corewell Health policies and procedures, and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes.
The RN partners with patients and families to incorporate their input and goals into the care plan, develops teaching strategies, and documents education and learning appropriately in the health record.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process framework.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and manage patient discharge.
- Incorporate patient-family centered care principles into all aspects of care.
- Deliver quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader.
- Partner with patients and families to develop and document care plans and teaching strategies.
- Recognize the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Associate’s in Nursing (Required).
- Bachelor’s in Nursing (Required within 5 years).
- Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (Required).
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required within 90 days).
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Required within 6 months).

- Weekly Scheduled Hours: 36.
- Days Worked: Variable.
- Weekend Frequency: Every other weekend.
