RN Cardiac PRN

About the role

As a PRN Registered Nurse in the Cardiac unit at TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center, you will perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. You will utilize therapeutic communication, maintain a safe environment, identify nursing problems, and plan individualized patient care using an interdisciplinary approach. You will also participate in performance improvement activities and coordinate care that aligns with the hospital’s mission and vision.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care needs and carry out physician orders.
• Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition using computerized documentation systems.
• Instruct and educate patients and families as part of a Multidisciplinary Care Planning team.
• Identify nursing problems and plan individualized patient care utilizing an interdisciplinary approach.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse license from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure with the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
• Current BLS certification.
• One year of registered nurse experience required; acute care RN experience preferred.

About the facility

TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is a 159-bed facility providing quality healthcare to Sumner and surrounding counties for over 45 years. The facility is the first Accredited Chest Pain Center in Sumner County, a Certified Primary Stroke Center, and a designated Level III Trauma Center. The Birth Center features a six-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), spacious maternity suites, and a lactation boutique.
