Responsibilities
- Assist cardiologists with diagnosing and treating arrhythmias, such as ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implants through monitoring patient cardiac status, managing conscious sedation and working with high-tech imaging equipment.
- Interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed.
- A caregiver in this position works days from 6:30AM – 5:00PM, with on-call requirements.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Two years of recent critical care nursing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Three years of Cath Lab experience
- Two years of Electrophysiology experience
Physical Requirements
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
