Responsibilities

  • Providing developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care to pediatric patients
  • Planning, delivering, and evaluating patient care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Monitoring patient conditions and responding appropriately to changes in clinical status
  • Communicating and collaborating effectively with physicians, nurses, and all members of the healthcare team
  • Supporting unit operations and maintaining flexibility to meet staffing needs
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support patient care and hospital operations

Qualifications

Looking for at least 1 year of RN experience.

License and Certification Requirements

  • Current Virginia Registered Nurse (RN) license or valid Compact State RN license
  • CPR certification required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required or must be obtained within 45 days of hire
  • RN specialty certification preferred

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Pediatric nursing experience preferred

Working Conditions

  • Patient care environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise, dust, or temperature extremes
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions related to patient care activities may be expected
