About the role
Baton Rouge General seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Burn Unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assessing and managing burn patients, as well as experience in pediatric to elderly patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Captures patient health data and prioritizes assessments based on immediate conditions.
- Determines nursing diagnoses and identifies expected outcomes based on assessments.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans.
- Delivers direct patient care, ensuring patient rights are maintained and treatments are administered accurately.
- Evaluates patient progress and revises care plans as needed.
- Assists with burn wound care procedures such as debridements, dressing changes, and preparing patients for surgeries.
- Analyzes patient care delivery and coordinates unit admissions and discharges.
Requirements
- Current Louisiana RN license.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS).
Qualifications
- No formal education required.
- Experience preferred: 1 year RN I, 3 years RN II & III.
- Knowledge of basic ECG rhythm interpretation.
- Proficiency in assessing and managing burn patients according to department guidelines.
Skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic ECG interpretation skills.
