About the Role
The Registered Nurse is accountable for the management of patient care during a designated timeframe. Responsibilities include coordination and evaluation of care, teaching and delegation of patient activities to other health care team members via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and the environment.
This 32-bed Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit provides comprehensive care for patients with a variety of psychiatric conditions, including depression, schizophrenia, mood disorders, psychosis, and more. Treatment is delivered in structured group settings within a therapeutic milieu, fostering engagement and recovery. The unit also provides post-ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy) care, ensuring safe and supportive transitions for patients undergoing advanced treatments. Nurses in this environment play a vital role in promoting mental health, safety, and compassionate care.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient care during a designated timeframe
- Coordinate and evaluate care
- Teach and delegate patient activities to other health care team members
- Utilize the nursing process and environment to deliver therapeutic care
- Provide care in a 32-bed Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit for patients with psychiatric conditions
- Deliver treatment in structured group settings within a therapeutic milieu
- Provide post-ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy) care
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- BSN degree preferred or must agree in writing to obtain a BSN within five years
- Current RN licensure in the State of Michigan required
- BLS certification required
- Previous medical-surgical experience preferred
- Computer proficiency and excellent customer service skills
