About the Role

Full-time Registered Nurse position in the GI Lab Endoscopy department, with 80 hours per pay period on variable shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assess and identify patient physiological and psycho-social problems and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans with measurable outcomes, ensuring consistency with medical plans and adherence to current standards of care.
• Assign tasks to team members using patient acuity data while maintaining accountability for care provided under your direction.
• Ensure nursing care complies with hospital/departmental policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Demonstrate principles of infection control and collaborate with the infection control nurse to ensure patient, staff, and visitor safety.
• Participate in the orientation of new personnel and assist clinical instructors with nursing student learning experiences.
• Review and/or revise each assigned patient’s plan of care at least every 24 hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Tennessee Board of Nursing or a temporary permit to practice.
• Certification (or scheduled for certification/recertification training) in unit-specific life support programs (CPR, ACLS, NALS).
• Knowledge of etiology, pathophysiology, and prognosis for illnesses and health problems, as well as the nursing and management processes.
• Understanding of hospital functions, policies, procedures, and regulations related to nursing service.
• For staff caring for age-specific groups, knowledge of bio-psychosocial needs of adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients, including growth and development needs where applicable.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in department specialty preferred.
