RN Assistant Mgr-T2

About the role

The RN Assistant Manager supports the RN Clinical Manager of nursing units, overseeing daily activities such as staffing, scheduling, rounding, and resource management. This role involves providing oversight for patient care through the nursing process and managing nursing care based on clinical standards.

Responsibilities

• Aids the RN Clinical Manager in planning, organizing, and managing unit activities.
• Adheres to network policies and procedures.
• Supervises and evaluates work activities of nursing, technical, clerical, service, maintenance, and other employees.
• Develops and maintains relationships with physicians, peers, staff, and other health care disciplines.
• Participates in and ensures staff participation in quality improvement processes.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment and resolves patient problems and grievances.
• Serves as an expert leader by mentoring clinical staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing within 2 years of hire.
• 2+ years of experience as a practicing Registered Nurse.
• 1+ years of experience in a leadership role (e.g., Team Lead/Charge, Supervisor, Manager).
• Current RN licensure by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas or proof of reciprocity.
• Current JPS recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Completion of unit-specific competency-based orientation program within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing (preferred).
• 3+ years of experience as a practicing Registered Nurse.
• RN Specialty Certification (preferred).
