RN Arrhythmia Diagnostic Specialist - Arrhythmia Clinic- Baton Rouge

About the role

We provide diagnostic care according to departmental guidelines and standing orders under the direction of the physician. Our team members manage patient flow, perform procedures, and maintain patient records.

Responsibilities

• Explains procedures to patients and ensures their comfort.
• Performs wound checks and suture removal.
• Telephones patients for device analysis and EKG transmission.
• Interrogates pacemakers/ICDs for hospital inpatients as per physician orders.
• Maintains pacemaker/ICD database systems.
• Assumes responsibility for patient care and communication.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience with pacemakers and/or ICDs.
• Knowledge of pacemaker functions and proficiency in computer use.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Cardiac Technician Certification or higher, and ACLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of practice.
• Self-directed and adaptable to various patient populations.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Skills

• Understanding of pacemaker and ICD functions.
• Proficiency in computer software and web-based applications.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
