About the Role
The Arcadia Family of Companies, a local non-profit organization, is dedicated to providing senior living excellence in a compassionate and dynamic environment. We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team at the Arcadia Retirement Residence (Health Care Center) and deliver exceptional nursing services in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Participates in admissions, discharges, and evaluation materials/processes for all residents to ensure appropriate assessment and documentation are complete, timely, and meet state and federal requirements.
- Conducts nursing assessments, administers professional nursing services (e.g., IVs, oxygen therapy, catheterization, tube feedings, suctioning, dressing changes), and monitors nursing care and treatment administered to all residents.
- Oversees medication administration, ensuring adequate ordering, receiving, documentation, safe storage, and disposal of physician-prescribed medication for residents, and conducts regular reviews of medication documentation.
- Works with the interdisciplinary team to ensure resident assessments are completed in accordance with Federal and State regulations.
- Responds to Emergency Call alarms, assesses residents’ physical and mental conditions, performs first aid, and takes appropriate action.
- Communicates effectively with Health Care Management staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers regarding orders, nursing services, and changes in residents’ conditions.
- Reports residents’ or their families’ concerns or complaints to Health Care management staff and communicates courteously with residents, families, and visitors.
- Monitors the nursing care of Boarder Room residents.
- Participates in orientation and training of new employees, assists in finding replacements for nurses who call in sick, investigates incidents, writes incident reports, and implements corrective actions.
- Assists during emergency drills and situations, participates in Quality Assurance programs, and ensures compliance with organizational policies, state and federal laws, and resident rights.
- Performs annual employee health screening, PPD skin testing, administers hepatitis immunization and annual flu injections, assesses employee injuries, and maintains medical supplies and equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises employees in the Health Care Center, including training, planning, assigning, and directing work, performance management, and addressing complaints and resolving problems, in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university and a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current State of Hawaii R.N. license and First Aid/CPR certification.
- Proficiency in using a computer, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and other applicable software applications.
Physical Demands
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The employee may be exposed to air-conditioned office environments, indoors without air conditioning, outdoors in all types of weather, and hazardous materials.

Schedule
Call-In (No Set Schedule; Minimum of two 8-hour shifts per month): Monday - Sunday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, 4:00 pm - 12:00 am, 12:00 am - 8:00 am.
Pay
$46.80 to $52.20 Hourly.
