RN Ambulatory, Triage - Foot & Ankle Clinic

Location: Fargo, ND
Shift: 8-hour day shifts
Schedule: Full time, 40 hours per week

Department Details

We have 5 Foot & Ankle surgeons in our clinic, along with a nurse practitioner. Our providers are a joy to work with and we enjoy a positive work environment with great teamwork. This position can be either a 0.9 or 1.0 FTE.

• Primary role of triage nursing alongside our current triage RN
• Trained in PRP procedures, nurse visits, and other clinic training as needed
• One-on-one cast and splint training provided
• Variety of tasks and opportunities to learn new skills

Responsibilities

• Answer patient inquiries over the telephone, assessing symptom severity and medical needs using triage algorithms
• Guide patients to the appropriate level of care and schedule appointments with healthcare providers/facilities
• Document patient interactions, health conditions, and follow-up care in health record systems
• Maintain and develop triage protocols, ensuring timely updates to patients' healthcare information
• Respond to patient inquiries through multiple technology platforms
• Educate patients based on incoming calls

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (preferred: AACN, ACEN, or NLN CNEA)
• Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred
• One year of healthcare experience preferred
• Unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practicing, or multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
• Nurses performing telephone triage must be licensed in the states where patients reside
• Complete all required licensure and department-specific competencies/certifications within the first 30 days of employment

Pay

Salary range: $29.50 – $44.50 per hour
Sign-on bonus available for eligible candidates.
