RN Ambulatory - Triage

Responsibilities
- Assess health status by completing a nursing assessment.
- Perform telephone triage.
- Notify physicians/LIPs of abnormal findings.
- Establish a care plan in collaboration with the patient, family, and health care team.
- Collaborate with care coordinators to ensure smooth and effective transitions of care.
- Assist with specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physician/LIP and monitor patients for response.
- Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
- Provide health education to patients and families.
- Develop, evaluate, adapt and document education to learning needs.
- Participate in quality initiatives, process improvements, and research activities to improve patient outcomes, patient experience and patient safety.
Requirements
- Maintain professional growth and development in the nursing field and identify annual core competencies.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- One year of recent experience as an RN
- OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Two to three years of experience preferred
- Ambulatory or acute care experience preferred
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through American Red Cross Certification within 6 months of hire
