RN, Ambulatory Services - Infusion Clinic

Location: Milwaukee, WI (Froedtert Hospital) – on-site role

About the Role

The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services works collaboratively as an active member of the interprofessional team to provide therapeutic patient and family-centered care. This role systematically and continuously collects and assesses data related to patient health status to develop, execute, and evaluate the plan of care. The Staff RN utilizes evidence to drive clinical decisions and practice related to individual and population health, establishes goals and strategies for care coordination, and considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, and fiscal accountability. The Staff RN delegates and supervises care in accordance with the WI Nurse Practice Act and participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives while assuming responsibility for professional development.

Responsibilities

• Perform/direct Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Independent rhythm interpretation and defibrillation
• Administration of advanced lifesaving medications
• Independent, templated ("RN-only") visits for patient assessment, with action taken based on established protocols and clinical practice standards
• Specialty patient education requiring certification (e.g., sedation, telemetry monitoring, and rhythm management)
• Assist with complex procedures (e.g., advanced wound therapy, central line management, device interrogation, and interpretation)
• Manage complex infusions (e.g., concurrent infusions, hazardous medication administration, blood and blood products)
• Patient care coordination, direct patient care, patient education, telephone triage/eVisits, and performing/assisting with minor procedures
• May float to other areas as needed for operational needs

Requirements

• Clinical experience and/or interest in the care and management of patient populations specific to the area of employment
• At least 1 year of relevant nursing experience preferred

Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact)
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or equivalent within 90 days of hire
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

Schedule

• FTE: 0.8 (32 hours per week)
• Shift: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM, varied days during the week
• Holidays: 1 holiday requirement per year
• Weekends: 3 weekends every 6 months
