RN Ambulatory - Neurology, PRN

Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
- Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage, and establish care plans.
- Administer medication and treatments.
- Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
- Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
- Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures, and specialized patient care equipment.
- Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families.
- Cover other nursing roles within the department.
- Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed.
Schedule
This is a PRN role with shifts between 7:30 am and 4:00 pm or between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. Occasional shifts may require working until 5:00 pm.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- In areas performing moderate sedation procedures and/or cardiac stress testing, must have current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification within six months of hire
- One year of recent experience as an RN OR LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements
- Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
- May require some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
- Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly.
Personal Protective Equipment
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Pay
Minimum hourly: $41.00
Maximum hourly: $41.00
