RN Ambulatory - Hematology & Oncology

About the role

The Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Cleveland Clinic's Richard E. Jacobs Health Center is dedicated to providing exceptional care for cancer and blood disorders. This role involves assisting in the provision of care to patients, families, and visitors in an ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
• Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage, and establish care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments.
• Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
• Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
• Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures, and specialized patient care equipment.
• Develop, evaluate, adapt, and document health education and provide it to patients and families.
• Cover other nursing roles within the department.
• Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• One year of recent experience as an RN OR LPN, Medical Assistant, and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area.
• Cancer-specific certification or demonstrated ongoing qualifying education.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing, Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross, One year of recent experience as an RN OR LPN, Medical Assistant, and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area, Cancer-specific certification or demonstrated ongoing qualifying education.
• Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Pay

Pay Range: Minimum hourly: $41.00 Maximum hourly: $41.00

Schedule

This role is part-time, working varying hours between 7:30am and 4:30pm with potential evenings until 8:00pm and Saturdays from 8:00am to 12:00pm. No holidays required.
