RN Ambulatory General Surgery

Location: 11085 Little Patuxent Pkwy, Suite 103, Columbia, MD 21044

Full-Time | 40 hrs./week | Day Shift

About the role

The RN provides and coordinates care to patients in our General Surgery Practice (Vascular, Colorectal and Endo Specialties). This role employs the nursing process to obtain objective and subjective data about the patient and develop a plan of care. You will respond to incoming patient calls and MyChart messages requiring triage of urgent symptoms, provide patient education for acute and chronic medical conditions, and support the practice as needed for regulatory and operational issues. The RN guides and advises other interdisciplinary team members to promote positive outcomes and collaborates with quality management and case management teams to coordinate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide patient care using the nursing process
• Obtain objective and subjective patient data to develop a care plan
• Triage urgent symptoms via patient calls and MyChart messages
• Provide patient education for acute and chronic medical conditions
• Support practice operations for regulatory and compliance needs
• Guide and advise interdisciplinary team members to ensure positive outcomes
• Collaborate with quality management and case management teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree, Associate degree, or Diploma in Nursing from an Accredited School of Nursing
• Current MD Registered Nurse license (Required)
• Current CPR certification (Required)
• Minimum one (1) year of experience as an RN (Required)
• Two (2) years of experience as a licensed RN (Preferred)
• Previous experience in an outpatient or surgical setting (Highly Preferred)
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Strong critical-thinking, clinical judgment, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Pay

Salary Range: $39.64/hour – $61.45/hour. Compensation will be based on experience and equity for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
