RN Ambulatory - Cancer/Outpatient Infusion, PRN
About the role
Join Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital’s Infusion Center team and provide personalized patient treatment in a stress-free setting. This is a PRN role with varying hours and days between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm; no weekends or holidays are required.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory infusion setting.
- Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage, and establish care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments, including IV starts, port access, injections, and lab draws.
- Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
- Notify physicians or Licensed Independent Providers (LIP) of abnormal findings.
- Assist with specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and operate specialized patient-care equipment.
- Develop, evaluate, adapt, and document health-education materials and provide education to patients and families.
- Cover other nursing roles within the department as needed.
- Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN program).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.
- One year of recent experience as an RN.
- Will consider LPN, Medical Assistant, or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience in substitution if the applicant is:
- A current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same ambulatory setting, or
- A current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Infusion experience or a passion for the infusion patient population.
Physical Requirements
- Full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
- Potential exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
- Light Work – exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, or negligible force constantly to move objects.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Pay
Hourly pay range for new hires: $41.00 – $41.00. Actual compensation will be based on the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education. The pay range does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.
