RN, Adult Oncology - FT/Nights (12HRS)

Position Summary

The RN (Registered Nurse) provides safe, cost‑effective patient care through the health experience, according to established standards utilizing the nursing process, within the scope of practice of Registered Nursing, for the Adult Oncology department at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Current California RN license (BSN required unless waived by nurse executive council review)
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• One (1) year minimum nursing experience in an oncology setting (highly preferred)
• Willingness to train and perform urology procedures and practices
• Current cancer‑specific certification by an accredited program or 12 hours of cancer‑specific continuing education each calendar year (or obtain within one year of employment)
• Preferred certifications: ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy, or OCN
• Completion of pre‑employment drug screening, criminal background check, health evaluation (including TB screening) and ongoing health re‑evaluations as required
• Ability to work every other weekend and be scheduled any day of the week
• Completion of unit orientation and clinical competency validation

Pay

Hourly rate: $50 – $74.98. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, extra‑shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. A $10,000 signing bonus is available to external hires new to MHS employment, contingent upon satisfaction of employment requirements.
