RN - Adult Mental Health - Roanoke - Days

Location: Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) Rehab, Roanoke, VA – Full‑time, weekdays 7 am‑7 pm with every other week (EOW) shift.

Responsibilities

• Provides individualized patient care and coordinates care delivery for patients of all ages.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Completes and documents age‑specific assessments to support development of care plans.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
• Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in electronic medical records.
• Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Advocates for patients and supports their rights and psychosocial needs.
• Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide age‑appropriate care.
• Demonstrates clinical expertise in dynamic and changing care environments.
• Implements strategies to improve patient outcomes and resource utilization.
• Serves as a role model and supports development of peers and team members.
• Manages resources, prioritizes tasks, and adapts to changing patient care needs.
• Supports orientation and training of new employees.
• Uses problem‑solving skills to address patient care and operational challenges.
• Provides feedback and participates in shared decision‑making activities.
• Supports education activities within the department.
• Maintains confidentiality and complies with regulatory and organizational standards.

Requirements

• Education: Graduate of a State Board of Nursing‑approved program.
• Experience: None required.
• Licensure: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Life Support: AHA BLS‑HCP required; additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP) may be required based on assigned work area.
• Other Minimum Qualifications: Keyboarding skills and computer literacy, including use of electronic medical records; for Behavioral Health roles, ability to safely manage disruptive or potentially violent patients.

Compensation

Employee pay range: $33.52 – $50.28 per hour. Pay is based on qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The range does not include benefits or pension plan.

Schedule

Full‑time, day/evening shift, weekdays 7 am‑7 pm with every other week (EOW) schedule.

Sign‑On Bonus

• $25,000 sign‑on bonus for experienced RNs.
• $15,000 sign‑on bonus for new‑grad RNs.
