RN – Acute Care Orthopedic Surgery and Ortho Trauma Unit

About the role

Join us at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital, specializing in post-surgical medical services for knee and hip replacements, shoulder, ankle, and spinal surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Assist fellow caregivers in ensuring every patient has the best treatment experience possible.
• Gain hands-on experience in various medical concerns and technologies.
• Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in developing plans of care, coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate.
• Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication, and document.
• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process.
• Delegate tasks/assignments, serve as a resource person, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, maintain applicable certification/licensure and obtain any required certifications specific to the unit.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Schedule

Nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m., including every other weekend and 3 holidays per year.
