About the role
The Unit, Allegheny General’s 7A Unit, is a 40-bed facility focusing on neurosurgical patients including those with strokes, back issues, and various types of tumors. It is an accredited stroke-certified unit and offers specialized care for conditions such as rabies, Lyme disease, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, Guillain-Barré syndrome, myasthenia gravis, and off-service medical patients.
Responsibilities
- Provides care based on the nursing process, demonstrating clinical assessment and care planning skills.
- Ensures safe and effective patient care according to regulatory requirements.
- Directs and manages the patient care team to deliver quality care.
- Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement the patient's care plan.
- Assesses learning needs of patients and families and educates them based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
Requirements
- Minimum Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate, Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate, Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Current State of PA RN licensure or current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- CPR certification.
Qualifications
