About the role

The RN works under the supervision of the Nurse manager and the Director, responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients. This role involves working in various settings within Riverside Health System, including Critical Care/Telemetry units.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates ability to assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population served in the Critical Care/Telemetry units/departments.
  • Partners with patients and families to develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of care, treatments, and procedures that contribute to the physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient.
  • Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluates for patient comprehension and documents.
  • Delegates and prioritizes tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and ensure patient care needs are met.
  • Able to recognize and respond to emergency situations.
  • Evaluates own needs for support and uses identified systems to meet need.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, Nursing (Preferred)
  • Associate's Degree, Nursing (Preferred)
  • Program Graduate, Nursing (Nursing Diploma is minimum education requirement, Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Nursing accepted in lieu of Nursing Diploma)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years ED RN Experience for all TEMP positions
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire
  • ACLS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required 1 yr RRMC) within 90 Days
  • PALS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Preferred RRMC) within 180 Days
  • Trauma Certified RN (TNCC) within 1 Year (Preferred)
  • Emergency Pediatric Certified RN (ENPC) within 1 Year (Preferred)

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) or compact state Upon Hire
