About the role
Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team!
Duties And Responsibilities
- Welcome patients by greeting them, in person or on the phone.
- Verify patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and recording medical history and confirming purpose of visit.
- Prepare patients for health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the exam room; provides examination gowns or shorts; assists them to position themselves, arranges exam room, instruments, supplies and equipment.
- Ensure all related reports, labs and imaging are available in patient’s records prior to visit.
- Supports patient care by assisting providers during exam; draws up medications for injections; completes records by recording examination, treatment and test results.
- Relays treatment plan to checkout receptionist.
- Keeps exam room and injection station supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders and verifying receipt.
- Ensures that patients receive appropriate competent and quality clinical care and that customer service meets patient’s expectations.
- Adheres by staff to all policy and procedures.
- Reports monitoring and management of patient and staff incidents.
- Maintains strict quality control for procedures.
- Scans orders and lab results into electronic medical system, print and fax lab reports to ordering doctor.
Qualifications
- Education/Certification: Graduation from an accredited High school program or higher.
- Valid driver’s license.
- CMA course, Phlebotomy course and phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Experience with computers and office equipment, required.
- The ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Bilingual is a plus.
- Must understand medical terminology.
- General Math skills.
- Can frequently and consistently make sound judgments. Must be organized, multi-tasker, and a critical thinker.
- Good communication skills, and ability to work well with others. Team player and flexible.
- Can work well under pressure and meet multiple and competing deadlines. Good customer service skills.
- Can recognize and understand the complexity and reflex-testing of laboratory complexity.
