RMN Electrical Designer- ARFF

Position Summary

The Electrical Designer will design, develop, and test the electrical systems related to ARFF (Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting) firetrucks. The role involves supporting advanced engineering designs, production designs, and issue resolution using engineering tools with efficient and affordable processes. The designer works cross-functionally with other sub-system engineers, purchasing, production, service, and sales teams.

Essential Functions

• Maintain, update, and create electrical schematics for ARFF vehicles and systems.
• Maintain, update, and create bill of materials based on specifications and equipment requirements for ARFF vehicles and systems.
• Support ARFF internal Rosenbauer technicians by providing technical information, procedures, and programming.
• Support ARFF production team with timely and accurate technical information, advanced troubleshooting, and assembly training as needed.
• Analyze and solve design, production, and field issues to successful resolution.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

Qualifications

• Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:
• Associate degree in electrical design or drafting preferred.
• 2 years of programming, loading, and testing software configurations preferred.
• Vehicle electrical system experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of electrical theory preferred.
• Previous experience with all facets of heavy vehicle construction and operation preferred.
• Bill of Material and CAD System experience preferred.
• Experience with schematic design / AutoCAD / Windchill / CREO preferred.
• Skills:
• Language: Able to find, read, and interpret relevant business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Able to write reports and business correspondence in a professional manner.
• Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Able to follow written and verbal directions and communicate new information that could affect project trajectories.
• Able to communicate new information effectively to a team.
• Math: Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Computer: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, especially related to formulas and equations. Able to perform intermediate PC functions in SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, Creo, and AutoCAD.
• Abilities:
