About the role
ESFM is the corporate facilities management (FM) division of Compass Group USA, a Gold-level Corporate Sustaining Partner of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), and a Platinum Corporate Member of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). ESFM self-performs 80% of all FM services provided to clients. Our portfolio of solution categories includes Facilities Maintenance & Engineering, ESG Programming, Laboratory Support Services, Janitorial & Industrial Cleaning, Landscaping & Grounds Management, Workplace Solutions and Managed Services.
This position is eligible for an Employee Referral Bonus. The Director, Risk & Controls - Safety leads the organization's safety risk management, compliance, and internal controls programs. This role is responsible for identifying and mitigating safety risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, strengthening governance processes, and driving a culture of safety across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee enterprise safety risk and controls frameworks.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate operational and workplace safety risks.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations.
- Lead safety audits, inspections, investigations, and corrective action programs.
- Establish safety metrics, risk indicators, and executive reporting.
- Partner with business leaders to improve safety performance and risk management practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a proactive safety culture.
- Lead and develop a team of safety, risk, and controls professionals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Risk Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in safety, risk management, compliance, or internal controls.
- 5+ years of leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk assessment, and control frameworks.
- Relevant certifications (CSP, CRM, CIA, CRISC, or similar) preferred.
