Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of meals, including meats, breads, vegetables, fruits, desserts, salads, soups, and other menu items.
- Wash and sanitize kitchenware, such as pots, pans, kettles, and other cooking utensils.
- Operate various food service equipment, including dishwashers, mixers, choppers, slicers, steamers, and ovens.
- Clean and sanitize work surfaces, food preparation areas, and dining spaces.
- Perform custodial duties, such as sweeping and mopping, to maintain a clean environment.
- Receive and stock food supplies while ensuring proper storage and sanitary conditions.
- Monitor and record food temperatures to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
- Understanding of U.S.D.A. food safety rules and regulations.
- Proficiency in using both standard and specialized kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-temperature environments and stand for extended periods.
- A high school diploma or GED, with some experience in food preparation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Physical stamina for standing, walking, using hands, kneeling, and crouching regularly during the workday.
