Right of Way Agent- Onsite
About the Role
ProSource is searching for a Right of Way Acquisition Agent III for a project located in Mendota Heights, MN. This position will be worked primarily in Mendota Heights, Minnesota; the ideal candidate will live within commutable distance.
The Acquisition Agent III represents independent execution within the mid-level tier of ProSource’s Acquisition Career Framework, responsible for working directly and independently with landowners, businesses, and other entities to acquire rights to easement for assigned projects.
Responsibilities
- Works independently to acquire rights in real property for full & partial takings, permanent easements, and long-term leases.
- Identify potential sites and establish contact with landowners.
- Study, evaluate, and explain project plans, profile drawings, and property plats.
- Prepare requests for title abstracts to determine the parties of interest.
- Request, review, and evaluate property appraisals or comparable sales reports.
- Negotiate property leases and purchases with property owners.
- Analyze governing body zoning and building codes and complete permit applications.
- Review signed agreements prepared for client approval.
- Manage assigned parcels independently and negotiate within defined authority.
- Escalate complex issues appropriately.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or its equivalent; degree preferred in a position-related field.
- 3-6 years of experience in land acquisition, title searches, real estate law, appraisal field, or other related fields.
- Active Real Estate License.
- Knowledge of real estate law and property transactions.
- Excellent analytical and research skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple parcels and deadlines independently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The Acquisition Agent III will spend a significant amount of time working in the field, using a computer and other standard office equipment. The position requires regular travel to meet with landowners, businesses, or other entities. The job may require sitting or standing for extended periods and may involve some light lifting or carrying of documents or equipment.
