About the role

Halo Land Management helps energy and infrastructure projects move from plan to reality. We partner with developers who build the systems that serve Michigan communities and support local growth. Our work depends on trust, clear communication, and respect for every landowner. As we grow, we are building a team that values ownership, care, and practical problem solving. In this role, you will be part of the field team that keeps projects moving and helps landowners feel informed, heard, and respected.

Responsibilities

  • Build trust with Michigan landowners through calls, letters, field visits, and in-person meetings.
  • Explain easement terms, access needs, tree work, and project impacts in plain language.
  • Negotiate agreements within approved limits and raise unique requests early.
  • Review exhibits, parcel data, route details, and work descriptions for accuracy.
  • Submit notes, agreement requests, tree forms, and closeout documents on time.
  • Partner with Project Managers, Title, GIS, Admin, forestry teams, and clients.
  • Help spot issues early, keep records clean, and support route walks, staking requests, and tract visits across Michigan.

Requirements

  • Experience in right of way, land, real estate, customer service, negotiation, or field work.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to review parcel data, maps, exhibits, surveys, or construction drawings.
  • Comfort using Google Drive, spreadsheets, trackers, and project tools.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel for Michigan tract visits.

Qualifications

  • A Michigan notary commission, or the ability to obtain one, is preferred.
  • A Michigan real estate license, or interest in pursuing one, is also valued.
  • Prior utility, land acquisition, oil and gas, or infrastructure experience is a plus.

Benefits

  • Clear growth paths and opportunities for higher responsibility.
  • Mentorship from experienced right of way professionals.
  • Exposure to energy, utility, transportation, and infrastructure projects.
  • A high-trust environment with freedom to structure your work.
  • Recognition for strong work, teamwork, and landowner care.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The schedule is flexible to accommodate fieldwork and remote tasks.
