Rigging Mechanical Fitter - 2nd Shift - P2

About the Role

We are specifically looking for candidates with experience operating large forklifts (15K to 35K) and/or overhead cranes. No certifications are needed. We are also seeking mechanically inclined individuals with experience using chain hoists, shackles, and slings. Mechanical Fitter or Tooling experience is a nice bonus—candidates with a Mechanical Fitter background and some forklift experience may be a good fit.

Our plant is not climate-controlled but has large fans, and we work overtime sometimes. We maintain a positive, progressive, and productive attitude toward plant targets and objectives regarding reliability, accountability, safety, integrity, quality, and productivity as unified goals.

Responsibilities

• Use hand-held controls to operate a forklift and possibly an overhead crane in a safe manner
• Work with the shipping team and production crew to ensure that parts are moved in accordance with business needs
• Read blueprints to install copper and aluminum
• Use hand tools and torque wrenches
• Lift 50+ lbs. consistently and safely
• Provide troubleshooting support
• Document and report all production quality requirements and any performance gaps

Qualifications

• Large forklift (15K to 35K) experience and/or crane experience (certifications not required)
• Mechanical aptitude with chain hoists, shackle, and sling experience
• Ability to read blueprints
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. consistently and safely
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future (no temporary visas or sponsorship will be provided)
