Rigging Foreman

About the Role

The Rigging Foreman is a top-level hands-on position responsible for leading work crews in lifting and moving materials and machines using power-operated equipment such as hoists, winches, cranes, and forklifts. This role typically works without supervision, requires long hours, and may include weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in rigging and lifting to ensure compliance with safety procedures and method statements.
• Familiar with heavy lift plans and procedures; assists in determining the proper method of lifting equipment for each project.
• Conducts basic loading of heavy lift projects by rigging customer equipment and ensuring proper use of equipment methods.
• Directs crew to move equipment to and from work areas.
• Optimizes resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) to ensure efficient and timely project completion.
• Ensures work crews are properly supplied with tools, equipment, and materials; prevents misuse of equipment and tools.
• Reads, interprets, and follows procedures, specifications, drawings, and other project documentation.
• Maintains records of all work completed.
• Specifies locations for moving machinery using knowledge of sliding and lifting methods.
• Enforces strict compliance with all OSHA safety procedures and company rules.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of rigging or heavy lift experience.
• 2-3 years of Foreman experience.
• Proficiency with basic computer skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience as a Foreman or Lead.
• Safety training and certification.

Physical Demands

This role requires standing, walking, sitting, and standing for long periods, as well as the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. Approximately 90% of time is spent in external conditions, which may include temperature variance, elevated noise levels, dust, and fumes. Travel with possible overnights is required.

Work Environment

The employee must wear appropriate PPE equipment and may occasionally be exposed to extreme temperatures, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level in the workplace is moderate.
