About the role
Our Team Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is an engineering/construction company headquartered in Katy, TX, specializing in the natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petrochemical industries. OPD is part of the larger Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) organization, offering a variety of capabilities across multiple industries. Known for its ability to supply both construction services and engineering/procurement, OPD serves as a 'one-stop-shop' for clients, enhancing efficiency and avoiding potential interface issues.
Responsibilities
- Lifting and moving heavy equipment and materials using mechanical equipment
- Attaching loads using chains, slings, cables, hooks, and other related equipment
- Manually handling and securing rigging equipment
- Effectively communicating with the rigging team (other riggers and crane operators)
- Able to assess weights of loads and equipment needed to lift safely
Qualifications
- At least 1.5 years of experience as a rigger or ironworker
- NCCER Rigger Certification Level 1
- Familiarity with crane signals (hand and verbal)
- Previous experience in a gas plant construction environment
- 3+ years previous experience as an ironworker or rigger
- NCCER Rigger Certification Level 2+
- Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations
- Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs
- Standing for extended periods of time up to 11 hours per day
- Moving the entire body
- Considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis
- Using hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools

Pay

Schedule
Travel is a must with extended periods away from home in remote areas at times. Must be able to work shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days per week when needed by project schedule demands.
