Rigger Apprenticeship Trainee Program
MEI is tasked daily with moving heavy, expensive, and often highly sensitive equipment in construction and operating facility environments for customers both large and small. This type of industrial liability necessitates a dedication to safety, professionalism, and expertise at every level and at all times.
About the Role
The Rigging Apprenticeship Program has been developed by industry experts and is designed to teach the core rigging skills necessary for individuals without any knowledge of the machinery moving industry or without rigging skills to start a fulfilling career as a skilled Rigger with opportunities to advance and grow in the industry through targeted skills development and training oversight.
Responsibilities
- Performing hands-on training, activities, and assessments in lab or field environments.
- Completing pre-work and homework assignments before or after related studies training seminars.
- Participating in six, bi-monthly, 3-day seminars beginning in July 2026.
- Traveling to training, if applicable.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Commitment to learning and willingness to complete all assignments, tasks, and assessments required of the program.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
Qualifications
- Willingness and ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round.
- Physical ability to perform general physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials up to 50 pounds.
