Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage a caseload of insurance defense matters involving rideshare accidents and liability claims
- Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
- Analyze claims involving layered insurance coverage (personal vs. commercial/rideshare policies)
- Represent drivers, transportation network companies, and/or insurers in state courts throughout California
- Conduct legal research and draft reports, motions, and coverage evaluations
- Collaborate with claims adjusters, experts, and clients to develop case strategy
- Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations
Qualifications
- Active California Bar license in good standing
- 2+ years of insurance defense or personal injury litigation experience
- Experience with auto liability and/or rideshare (Uber/Lyft) matters strongly preferred
- Familiarity with California insurance regulations and coverage issues
- Deposition and motion practice experience required; trial experience is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
- Prior experience representing Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) or handling rideshare claims
- Understanding of Prop 22 implications and TNC insurance frameworks
- Experience managing high-volume caseloads and meeting billable requirements
