Rhino Designer
About the role
A Chicago-based commercial interior design and manufacturing company, specializing in acoustic solutions, is seeking a Rhino Designer to join their team.
Responsibilities
- Develop drawings and documentation through the lifecycle of projects from Design to Engineering
- Have shared ownership of projects from assignment through install
- Communicate schedule and project needs to the Design Manager (DM) to ensure accurate loading and scheduling
- Follow best practices in digital housekeeping of project files and documentation, ensuring accuracy and organization
- Verify product layout and use, communicating with the various project and process leads to ensure accuracy
- Develop custom design solutions and products for custom and boutique projects in tandem with the DM
- Validate through prototyping all proposed custom solutions and their feasibility for mass manufacture
- Involvement in client meetings to discuss feedback and maintain product requirements
- Packaging the complete product specification for Design, Engineering, and Production
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Architecture
- 3+ years of professional experience in a commercial based architecture/design firm
- Design (rendering, layouts, interior design) and construction document experience (specifically reflective ceiling plans)
- Experience working in Rhino professionally; familiarity with Grasshopper and AutoCAD/Revit is a plus
- Digital fabrication experience
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.37 - $38.46/hr.
